Akbarnama, also called the Book of Akbar, was written by Abu'l-Fazl ibn Mubarak. Abul Fazl-one of Akbar's valued courtiers (commonly referred to as the nine jewels). In Persian, between 1589 and 1596, he composed this official biography with an elaborate, detailed, and illuminated portrait of Akbar Emperor: his life, reign, and the functioning of the Mughal Empire.
