The Kachura Lakes, Upper and Lower, are located in the Skardu region of Gilgit-Baltistan, in the north of Pakistan. Located at an elevation of about 2,500 meters (8,200 feet) in the Karakoram mountain range, the lakes are in the vicinity of the town of Skardu, with the Lower Kachura Lake being famously known as the Shangrila Lake.
