  • (B) 45 miles
  • (C) 55 miles
  • (D) 60 miles
Sir creek has a total length of 60 miles (around 96 km). Sir Creek is a tidal estuary in the uninhabited marshlands of Indus river Delta. It is the contentious border between the Indian state of Gujarat and the Pakistani province of Sindh. It is originally referred to as Ban Ganga, a tributary of the Arabian sea. The dispute is based on the divergent interpretations regarding the maritime boundary. Pakistan presents a resolution that was made in 1914 (the so-called green line) and believes that the whole creek belongs to it, whereas India tries to prove the Thalweg Principle, which would put the border in the center of the navigable canal. The region has great strategic significance despite its being a marshy land because the area offers great fishing ground as well as possible underwater resources of oil and gas.
