Hajaj Bin Yusuf demanded compensation for looted ships from which ruler of Sindh?
(A) Raja Ashok Chander
(B) Raja Dahir
(C) Raja Pershottam
(D) Raja Maan Singh
Hajjaj bin Yusuf, the Umayyad governor in Iraq, asked Raja Dahir, the ruler of Sindh, for compensation and to free captives. Pirates near Debal had attacked ships carrying gifts and families. Raja Dahir was a Brahmin king ruling over Sindh in the early 700s. After pirates looted Arab merchant ships off Sindh's coast, Hajjaj wrote to Raja Dahir demanding he return the women and children taken captive and deal with the pirates. However, Dahir refused to take responsibility, saying he couldn’t control them. This refusal led to the Umayyads invading under Muhammad bin Qasim in 712 AD.
