Rai Ahmad Khan Kharal (1785–1857) is a renowned Punjabi folk hero and a freedom fighter who led the rebellion in 1857 in Sandal Bar in Punjab. He belonged to the Kharal tribe, which is a Rajput tribe. He was born in Jhamra, which is now in Faisalabad District/Sahiwal in Punjab. The famous Punjabi hero of the 1857 War of Independence, Rai Ahmad Khan Kharal, died on 21st September 1857. He died in action when British forces ambushed him at Noorey di Dall near Gogera in present-day Okara District in Pakistan, while he was fighting against the British East India Company.
