  • زکوٰۃ تو صرف فقیروں اور مسکینوں اور زکوٰۃ کے وصول کرنے والوں کے لیے ہے اور ان کے لیے جن کے دلوں میں الفت پیدا کی جائے (نو مسلم) اور غلاموں کو آزاد کرنے میں اور قرض داروں کے لیے اور اللہ کی راہ میں اور مسافروں کے لیے (یہ) اللہ کی طرف سے فرض ہے، اور اللہ سب کچھ جاننے والا، حکمت والا ہے.
  • Al-Fuqarā' (الْفُقَرَاءِ): The poor, who are those who do not have enough to meet their needs.
  • Al-Masākīn (الْمَسَاكِينِ): The needy, who are those who have some, but insufficient, resources.
