The Afghanistan-Pakistan Transit Trade Agreement (ATTA) was initialled in Kabul on March 2, 1965. This basic agreement provided Afghanistan with the use of Pakistani seaports, namely Karachi and subsequently Port Qasim, as well as overland routes for the transportation of transit trade goods. A new and more comprehensive agreement, APTTA, was signed in 2010.
