The well-known "Sunflowers" series was painted by the Dutch Post-Impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh. Van Gogh made two different series of these still-life paintings:
Paris Series (1887): These paintings show cut sunflowers lying on the ground.
Arles Series (1888-1889): These are his most famous paintings, which show bouquets of sunflowers in a vase, painted to decorate his "Yellow House" in preparation for the arrival of his friend Paul Gauguin.
