The Shadow Cabinet: basically, the opposition's senior team of spokespeople (the Shadow Ministers) which tracks and mirrors every member of the government's Cabinet. Their job is to critique government policies and actions, and to hold individual ministers accountable for how they perform. They also develop and propose alternative policies to the public within their own areas of responsibility-their portfolios. And they prepare themselves to step into government if their party wins the next election.
