The Strait of Hormuz is located between Iran, Oman, and the UAE. To the north is Iran, specifically the Hormozgān Province. To the south is Oman, through the Musandam Governorate exclave, and the United Arab Emirates. The Strait of Hormuz connects the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea. At its narrowest point, it is 39 kilometers wide (approximately 21 nautical miles).
