Indian scientists, particularly from Bihar Agricultural University (BAU) and Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth in the state of Maharashtra, have developed a new, innovative variety of mangoes called “Sindhu.” This hybrid, produced by crossing Ratna with Alphonso, has a remarkably small, fragile, and non-viable seed, making the fruit almost seedless.
