Hazrat Younas (A.S), commonly known as Jonah, is also known as Zun-Noon (Dhun-Nun) in the Holy Qur'an. Zun-Noon translates into English as “The Companion of the Fish”. It refers to a famous miracle in which Younas (A.S) was swallowed by a fish or whale and lived in its belly until he repented and emerged on the shore. This title is mentioned in Surah Al-Anbiya (21:87). There is another title also, Sahib al-Hoot, mentioned in Surah Al-Qalam (68:48).
