Which Prophet is known as Zun-Nun?

  • (A) Hazrat Younas (A.S)
  • (B) Hazrat Shoaib (A.S)
  • (C) Hazrat Zull-Kiffal (A.S)
  • (D) Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S)
The title of Zun Nun (ذُو ٱلنُّون), is derived from two Arabic words: Zhu, which means Owner or Companion, and Nun, which means Fish or Whale. Younas (A.S) acquired this title because he was swallowed by a huge fish, after which he remained inside the fish’s belly until Allah’s grace released him. In the holy book of the Quran, he is explicitly mentioned as the title character in Surah Al-Anbiya, which is number 21:87, and he is also called Sahib il Hoot (صاحبِ حوت یا ذوالنون ,مچھلی والا), which means Companion of the Fish, in Surah Al Qalam.
