Who is known as the “Father of History”?

Herodotus was an ancient Greek historian of the 5th century BC, particularly living between about 484–425 BC. He is regarded as the "Father of History" due to his being the first to collect sources in a systematic way, verify them in some helpful measure, and then synthesise his findings into a coherent narrative-particularly in his work The Histories, recording the Greco-Persian Wars.
